Admittedly, I don't spend much time at Aberporth beach, I prefer the more secluded areas. It certainly does get busy here at peak times, but it's none the less charming for it's hustle and bustle. Aberporth beach is small and pefectly formed. It does have some 'tourist trap' encroachments, like the standard cafe's, chip shop, pub etc, but it's far from tacky. It's a beautiful beach and if you are used to places like Western-Super-Mare, this will feel postively 'off the beaten track'. In fact, there are very few 'tacky tourist traps' along the Ceredigion coastline. Some places are certainly more built up and tourist trappy than others, with your usual smattering of shops, holildat cottages and other holiday accommodation, but nothing garish. Anyway, I spent some time in Aberporth and at Aberporth beach after a drenchy wet walk from Mwnt to Aberporth. After learning my new waterproofs were not very waterproof, Aberpoth and the Ship Hotel pub was a welcome site. Chilled to the bones on cold and rainy October evening, I arriveed at Aberporth just before sunset. Alas I saw no dolphines at Aberpoth this time, but you can see them all up this stretch of coastline.
